Having this perfect brown coat sitting in my closet for about an year, I finally have the guts to sport this piece from my grandmother's wardrobe. It is perfect for menswear-inspired looks for its oversized shape and unisex design. However, I have decided to practice it with a feminine approach - never play the safe card I am. I want to create a gentle and sophisticated look that's not overly girly yet precisely expressing my favorite concept of androgyny. I guess I was thinking a modern 40s.
Fashion is an imitation game - trends are recyclable and icons are overrated. People nowadays are too frenetic to find any sort of stability, as if we don't batter ourselves in some sort of categories, we lost the definition of who we are. I think personality can be attributed through experiences. In order to becoming somebody, we have to go through being distorted and confused, and eventually we know ourselves more and more. Imitate to grow, not to copy; it's a waste of life.
